Yellow tea comes from the same herb as green, white and black tea and its properties are similar to green tea. It helps, with the right diet, to maintain the desired weight. The secret of this beverage is in the vitamins, minerals and enzyme epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). It stimulates fat oxidation and energy consumption. Yellow tea is known for its special processing. The yellow tea leaves ferment more than the green tea leaves, but they are not completely fermented as with black tea. Consequently, yellow tea contains slightly more antioxidants than green tea. In order to get the best tea taste and aroma, you need to know how to properly prepare it. It does not need to be boiled, in which case you may get a liquid that does not taste very good. 15 to 25 grams of yellow tea (or one full tablespoon) is put on a liter of water, and one teaspoon (or 3 to 5 grams of tea) is required for two deciliters of a delicious beverage. The water temperature should be between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius and the tea should be in it for 3 minutes. It is best kept in a dry, dark and cool place, in tightly closed containers where there is not much air. In that case, it oxidizes more slowly and maintains freshness longer.
